Student of National Open University Nigeria denied access into exam hall over “indecent dressing” {VIDEO}

A woman was prevented from sitting for her exam at the National Open University (NOUN) in Garki, Abuja, because her dressing was "improper". The student said she arrived at the examination centre in the morning and was getting ready for her 2p.m. paper when she was denied entrance into the exam hall. A video captured a security guard holding her back from entering the hall. The student then showed herself to the camera and asked viewers to tell her if she was indecently dressed. She was wearing a white tank top, blue denim jacket, and black jeans. Ibadan court jails investment fraudster for 75 years

Justice Bayo Taiwo of the Oyo State High Court sitting in Ibadan, on Thursday, December 14, 2023 convicted and sentenced Olaniyan Gbenga Amos to seventy five, 75, years imprisonment for multiple investment fraud. A statement from the agency says Amos was convicted alongside his firm, Detorrid Heritage Investment Limited. They were prosecuted on 35-count count charges by the Ibadan Zonal Command of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission, EFCC, bordering on obtaining by false pretences,  contrary to Section 1(1) (a) and punishable under Section 1(3) of the Advance Fee Fraud and Other Fraud Related Offences Act 2006. Reaction as 3,963 teachers fail professional exams – TRCN

No fewer than 3,963 teachers who sat for the Nov. 2023 diet of the Professional Qualifying Examination (PQE) failed the examinations. Prof. Josiah Ajiboye, the Registrar of Teachers Registration Council of Nigeria (TRCN), the body that conducted the examination, disclosed this at an interactive session with newsmen in Abuja on Monday. Ajiboye said the examination was conducted to test the professional knowledge of teachers in the educational sector. “A total of 15,753 sat the examination at 38 centres across the country. “Out of this, we have 10,636 that passed which is about 72.9 per cent and those that failed are 3,963,’’ he said. BREAKING : JAMB increases UTME registration fee The Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board, JAMB, on Monday, increased the registration fee for the Unified Tertiary Matriculation Examination, UTME. The exam body made this known in a statement on Monday. It approved the sum of seven thousand, seven hundred naira, (N7,700 ) as fee for UTME and mock examination. It also pegged the fee for the examination, without the mock trial at six thousand, two hundred naira N6200. DAILY POST reports that the cost of the JAMB form without a mock exam was N5,700 in 2023, and the application form inclusive of a mock exam was priced at (N6,700).
