Follow live coverage today as Bayern Munich host Real Madrid in the first leg of their Champions League semi-final clash
David Alaba is present for Real Madrid tonight despite still being unavailable to play due to a long-term injury.
The Austrian spent the first decade of his career playing for Bayern Munich before leaving in 2021, winning 10 Bundesliga titles, six DFB-Pokal cups and two Champions League titles with the club.
Bayern fans will be pleased that Leroy Sane is available to start tonight. Without him, there would have been a distinct lack of pace in the side.

Tonight’s game is going to be about the transitional moments, and Thomas Tuchel will be looking for Sane to drive Bayern upfield at speed when they regain possession.
In his pre-match press conference, Carlo Ancelotti said Bayern are a dangerous opponent despite their disappointing domestic season: “The past is the past. This is a semi-final. We will be up against an opponent that has weapons, quality, strength. We are very happy to be here, I think very few thought we would have be. The goal is to play another match after this tie too.
“We have a lot of respect for Bayern. They were spectacular against Arsenal and we are focusing on those games, not their season in the Bundesliga. You have to take into account their history in the Champions League, that’s a big factor.”
There was an interesting comment made by Thomas Tuchel this week. In one of his press conferences, he spoke of Bayern’s need to cope with Real Madrid’s “aura”. He’s not wrong, of course, but that mystique tends to bite you when you start giving it credence or talking about it out loud.
Bayern are an underdog in this tie, certainly, but perhaps that suits them? It did against Arsenal, when they managed to generate resilience which they have not had all season. They looked comfortable playing on the counter and much happier defender deep and in numbers.
