“It’s been 20 years since I’ve been here, so I just wanna get to know more about Nigeria’s culture and where I really come from.”

She further reiterated her interest in winning the Miss Universe Nigeria pageantry. “My goal is to obviously win the crown for Miss Universe Nigeria,” she said.

Adetshina also urged people to learn from her story and be willing to embrace all cultures with the goal of living peacefully.

She said she is ready to embrace her diversity and try her best to merge both cultures, blend in and make the best of the experience.

She was invited for the pageantry following her withdrawal from the Miss South Africa pageant, triggered by significant backlash over questions regarding her nationality.
